The Future of the WLC
Training Our Future Leaders
While the World Leadership Corps will retain a link to the University of Oxford’s James Martin 21st Century School, the decision has been made to move the WLC to the United States and operate its program as part of an institution of higher education there. After extensive exploration with potential partners, the WLC and Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, have reached an agreement in principle for the World Leadership Corps to become a program of Middlebury College, pending the WLC’s independent attainment of a fundraising goal that will provide complete support for WLC operating costs for the first three years as well as an endowment that would provide future support. Advancement work has begun, with a target date for campaign completion set for summer 2009.
We are very excited about the prospects for this relationship and its potential for advancing international service and the training of future leaders. If you are interested in supporting the effort to bring the World Leadership Corps to Middlebury, please contact Executive Director Thomas L. Benson at tbenson@worldleadershipcorps.org.
